Abstract

The article “Mountain Rescue in 3D – Night and Fog Rescues with High-Tech” focuses on the use of advanced geospatial and three-dimensional technologies to support rescue operations in difficult mountain environments. Mountain rescue can become particularly challenging at night or in foggy conditions, when visibility is limited and the surrounding terrain is difficult to assess.

Three-dimensional geographic information can provide a detailed representation of terrain and other relevant features. By using 3D models and spatial information, rescue teams can gain a better understanding of the landscape and support the planning of routes and operational activities in challenging environments.

The article highlights the importance of combining high-tech tools with geographic information for emergency response. Accurate spatial data and digital visualization can help rescue personnel interpret terrain conditions and improve their understanding of difficult areas where conventional observation may be limited.

The use of advanced geospatial technology demonstrates how GIS and 3D modelling can extend beyond conventional mapping applications. In mountain rescue, these technologies can provide valuable support for navigation, planning and situational awareness, particularly when operations take place under poor visibility.

Overall, the article presents 3D geospatial technology as an important tool for supporting modern mountain rescue operations and demonstrates its potential in demanding night-time and fog-related situations.
