Compass for renewable energies
Keywords:
Renewable Energy, GIS, Energy Planning, Spatial Analysis, Geoinformatics, Sustainable DevelopmentAbstract
The article “Compass for Renewable Energies” examines the role of geographic information and GIS-based approaches in supporting the development and planning of renewable energy. Geographic conditions are important when identifying suitable areas for renewable energy projects, making spatial data a valuable resource for analysing energy-related opportunities.
GIS can bring together different types of geographic information and present them within a common spatial framework. This allows users to examine factors such as location, land characteristics and other relevant spatial conditions when considering renewable energy development.
The article highlights the potential of geoinformatics to support energy planning and decision-making. Spatial analysis can help organize complex geographic information and provide a clearer basis for evaluating possible locations and development options.
The growing interest in renewable energy also increases the importance of reliable spatial information for planning and implementation. GIS can support the visualization and analysis of geographic factors while helping planners and other stakeholders understand the spatial context of renewable energy projects.
Overall, the article presents geospatial technology as a useful “compass” for navigating renewable energy planning and illustrates how GIS can contribute to more informed and structured approaches to sustainable energy development.
