This article presents 3D ImageVector in the context of terrestrial photogrammetry without traditional control points. Terrestrial photogrammetry uses images captured from ground-based positions to derive measurements and three-dimensional information about objects and environments. The approach discussed in the article is relevant to workflows in which reducing or eliminating control-point requirements can simplify field data collection and processing. The article considers the potential of image-based methods for generating three-dimensional representations and supporting surveying and geospatial applications. It highlights the connection between photogrammetry, image processing, and 3D modelling and examines how alternative workflows can contribute to more flexible approaches to terrestrial spatial data acquisition.
