This article examines the increasing complexity of mobility and the role of geospatial technologies in understanding modern transportation systems. Urban mobility involves many interacting elements, including private vehicles, public transport, pedestrians, cycling, road infrastructure, traffic conditions, and emerging digital mobility services. As these elements become more connected, reliable location information is needed to understand movement and support effective planning. The article discusses the contribution of GIS, spatial data, navigation systems, and digital mobility services to the changing transportation environment. Geospatial information can help identify traffic patterns, analyze accessibility, support route planning, and provide users with information about available mobility options. The growth of connected and automated technologies is also changing the relationship between vehicles, infrastructure, and users. This creates new opportunities for data-driven transportation management but also increases the need for accurate, timely, and interoperable information. The article presents the mobility landscape as a complex environment in which different technologies and services increasingly interact. Understanding these relationships is important for developing transportation systems that are efficient, flexible, and responsive to changing needs. The discussion highlights how location-based information can provide a common foundation for analyzing mobility and coordinating different forms of transportation in increasingly digital urban environments.
