This article examines intelligent mobility in Zurich and the opportunities and controversies associated with the digital transformation of urban transportation. Modern cities are increasingly using geospatial data, sensors, digital platforms, and connected mobility services to understand and manage how people move. These technologies can provide information about traffic, public transport, cycling, walking, and other forms of mobility. The article considers how location-based information can support better coordination and planning while also highlighting the complex interests involved in changing established transportation systems. Intelligent mobility is not only a technical issue; it also affects urban space, public services, user behavior, and policy decisions. GIS and spatial analysis can help reveal mobility patterns and identify areas where infrastructure or services may need improvement. At the same time, the introduction of new digital systems can create questions about data use, accessibility, privacy, and the distribution of benefits. The article presents Zurich as a setting in which technological opportunities and practical controversies meet. It highlights the importance of combining geospatial information with broader urban planning and social considerations. A successful intelligent mobility strategy therefore requires more than digital tools; it requires coordination between technology, infrastructure, public authorities, service providers, and the people who use the transportation system.
