This article examines mixed realities and the growing connection between geodata and Building Information Modeling. Geospatial information describes the wider geographic environment, while BIM provides detailed information about buildings and construction elements. Bringing these two forms of information together can create a more complete digital representation of both individual structures and their surrounding spaces. The article discusses how mixed-reality technologies can use this combined information to connect digital models with the physical environment. Augmented and virtual reality can provide users with new ways to explore spatial information, visualize buildings, and understand relationships between structures and their surroundings. Such applications may support planning, construction, maintenance, inspection, and communication. The integration of geodata and BIM also creates opportunities for more consistent digital workflows because information from different systems can be connected through a common spatial context. However, effective integration requires compatible data structures, accurate positioning, suitable visualization methods, and reliable information management. The article highlights the potential of mixed realities to make complex spatial information easier to understand and interact with. It shows how the combination of GIS, BIM, and immersive technologies can contribute to the development of digital environments in which physical and virtual information are increasingly connected.
