This article examines the importance of quality and quantity in network and planning information. Information about utility networks and planned infrastructure activities needs to be available in sufficient detail and in a reliable form so that users can make informed decisions. Network and planning information is often used by engineers, planners, construction companies, public authorities and other organizations whose work depends on understanding what is located where. The article considers the balance between the amount of information provided and its quality. A large quantity of data is not necessarily useful if the information is outdated, incomplete or difficult to interpret. Conversely, highly detailed information may not provide additional value when the requirements of a particular task are more limited. Digital geospatial systems can help organize and deliver network information more efficiently by connecting maps, databases and planning records. Standardized processes and clear responsibilities are also important for keeping information current. The topic is especially relevant as infrastructure management becomes increasingly digital and users expect faster access to reliable spatial information. The contribution highlights that effective network and planning information should be accurate, understandable and appropriate for its intended use. By considering both quality and quantity, organizations can improve the practical value of geospatial information and provide a stronger basis for planning, coordination, construction and infrastructure management. This balance is particularly important where several organizations exchange information about the same infrastructure. Clear formats, regular updates and suitable access arrangements can reduce misunderstandings and make network information more useful throughout the planning and implementation process.
