Maintenance of drainage networks; [Instandhaltung von Entwässerungsnetzen]

This article addresses the maintenance of drainage networks. Effective maintenance requires reliable information about network layout, asset condition, access points and reported problems. GIS can connect drainage assets with inspection records, maintenance histories and surrounding land information, helping teams plan work and identify locations that need attention. Accurate network data is important because incomplete records can slow response and complicate coordination. A spatially organised maintenance workflow can support prioritisation, documentation and communication between field crews and managers. The topic demonstrates the value of geospatial asset management for utility infrastructure and for keeping essential drainage systems operational.
