Abstract

The article “What I Found Important, and What I Enjoyed” presents a personal and professional reflection on topics, developments and experiences within the field of geoinformation and Geographic Information Systems. It focuses on aspects of the GIS environment that are considered particularly meaningful and interesting from a professional perspective.

The article reflects on the practical side of working with geographic information and the continuing development of geospatial technologies. GIS provides a wide range of possibilities for collecting, managing, analysing and presenting spatial information, while professional experience can provide valuable insight into how these technologies are applied in practice.

Particular attention is given to the relationship between professional interests and developments within the geospatial field. New technologies, applications and approaches can create opportunities for learning and exploration, while practical experiences can shape how professionals understand the value of different GIS applications.

The article provides a reflective perspective on the geoinformation sector rather than focusing solely on a specific technical application. It illustrates how professional experience, personal interest and technological development can come together in the wider GIS community and contribute to an individual's understanding and appreciation of geoinformatics.
